A Different World
A historically Black college rendered in bold graphic design, with the theme re-recorded by a different artist across the run — Aretha Franklin among them.
A Different World kept one opening title sequence, 65 seconds long, across season 2.
At 65 seconds, it opens well above the 38-second median for comedy sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on NBC in 1987, when Truth or Consequences, Another World and Columbo were also on the network.
