Bewitched
Animated witches and a swing arrangement — a live-action sitcom that opens as a cartoon, which was the only way to show the magic on a 1964 budget.
Bewitched opens with a main title sequence of 54 seconds.
At 54 seconds, it opens well above the 38-second median for comedy sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on ABC in 1964, when The Bugs Bunny Show, ABC's Wide World of Sports and American Bandstand were also on the network.
