Black Sails
Carved wood and bone — ships, skulls and rigging rendered as scrimshaw, animated as though the carving were happening as you watch.
Black Sails opens with a main title sequence of 91 seconds.
At 91 seconds, it opens well above the 50-second median for drama sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on Starz in 2014, when Party Down, Power and Survivor's Remorse were also on the network.
