Chernobyl
No montage and no metaphor — the camera simply moves through the plant's corridors and control rooms while Hildur Guðnadóttir's score, built from recordings made inside a power station, does the rest.
Chernobyl opens with a main title sequence of 96 seconds.
At 96 seconds, it opens well above the 50-second median for drama sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on HBO in 2019, when Curb Your Enthusiasm, In Treatment and The Jinx were also on the network.
