Gurren Lagann
A mecha series whose opening escalates as fast as the show does, and which by the end is operating at a scale the first episode could not have suggested.
Gurren Lagann opens with a main title sequence of 91 seconds.
At 91 seconds, it opens well above the 58-second median for animation sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on TV Tokyo in 2007, when Gintama, Naruto Shippuden and Naruto were also on the network.
