The Day Today
News-graphics bombast pushed just past the point of sense — a parody so accurate that actual bulletins caught up with it within a decade.
The Day Today opens with a main title sequence of 28 seconds.
At 28 seconds, it opens well under the 38-second median for comedy sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on BBC Two in 1994, when Talking Heads, Yes, Prime Minister and Absolutely Fabulous were also on the network.
