The Darling Buds of May
H. E. Bates's Kent farming family, and the series that made Catherine Zeta-Jones a household name inside a fortnight.
The Darling Buds of May opens with a main title sequence of 60 seconds.
At 60 seconds, it opens well above the 38-second median for comedy sequences in this catalogue.
It arrived on ITV in 1991, when The Sooty Show, Thomas & Friends and Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends were also on the network.
