Star Trek: Discovery

2017–2024Paramount+Sci-Fi

A complete break from every Trek opening before it — no ship, no narration, just schematic drafting-table renderings of Starfleet hardware assembling and dissolving in empty space, with a pair of hands reaching through it all.

Seasons 1–2

95s

Prologue's blueprint sequence — phaser, tricorder, spacesuit and delta shield drawn as exploded technical illustrations while Jeff Russo's theme builds. Small objects are swapped between the first two seasons, but the design and score hold.

Seasons 3–5

91s

Reworked when the show jumps to the 32nd century — the hardware in the illustrations is replaced with far-future equivalents, including the detached-nacelle Discovery and the new combadge, and the closing image changes to two hands reaching across a gap.
